Does anyoone know of a shuttle service between North and South Lake?
What are the chances of just hitching a ride?

No response = no shuttle?

Let's try the proper forum, and see if you have better luck there. ;)

So what's the proper forum? I have the same transportation question - best/cheapest way to get between North and South Lake?

This one. This thread was originally posted in another forum, and then moved here.

Thanks,

We've got permits for the Bishop Pass Tr next Wed (7/18). Does anyone have recommendations on how to shuttle between North and South Lake or how hard is it to hitch between the 2 on a weekday?

I've usually had luck hitchhiking, but it might help if you wrote out a conspicuous sign offering, say, $20 for a ride, and put it on top of your pack. It's possible someone will do it for the money (that happened once for me), but it's also possible someone will just volunteer and decline to accept a gratuity (which has also happened).

I'd also suggest trying to strike up a conversation with another party you see hiking out -- people are a lot more willing if you've already established a rapport on the trail.

But there's obviously no guarantee. There used to be a couple that ran a shuttle service. Their number was (877) 656-0756. I used them at least 5 years ago; I don't know whether they still do it.
