Who uses one for their stove? What make do you use? Store bought or
do you have a home-made one?

I use a beat up MSR windscreen I've been lugging around for 13 years. I am interested in what everyone else is using too. I've been able to upgrade/lighten/improve my gear by following threads like this. Thanks in advance for any replies

I use a home made Caldera Clone windscreen for my alcohol stove. The cone is made out of 0.005" Ti foil which I ordered from TiGoat. I designed the windscreen to fit inside my 900ml Evernew wide Ti pot.

Here's the pot sitting on top of the stove with the windscreen removed. The stove is a neat little Fancee Feest stove I got from Zelph Stoveworks.



The combination works really nice for me. Unfortunately now, with fire restrictions in place over most of the Sierra, I'm leaving the alcohol stove at home.

+1 on the beat-up years old MSR screen. I even use it around my canister stove (MSR Pocket Rocket. I know they say not to but I leave one side open so I can get to the control and the fuel canister always stays cool

+ 1 on the MSR screen with the Pocket Rocket, but usually I just prop up a couple pieces of granite or find a notch to cook in.

Haha... I too use a MSR windscreen for my stove (a venerable Whisperlite Int'l).

Both stove and windscreen work perfectly for me = no need to upgrade.

Aluminum foil. Cheap, foldable, easy to make in different sizes and thicknesses, lightweight, and recycleable.

Roof flashing or H.D. foil from a disposable
Baking Pan.

Yep, foil is all I use. I always bring a few folded up pieces for cooking and if its even a little breezy ill use some for a windshieid.
