Bearikade Delivers!

Post by BSquared »

We rented a couple of Bearikades from Wild Ideas for our recent 8-day hike in SE Yosemite. When they hadn't arrived at Tuolumne two days before departure, we got worried and gave them a call: oops. "It happens once in a thousand or so rentals, but it seems you fell through the cracks." But not to worry: they'd deliver them to Tuolumne the next day, in person! Long story short: they were about an hour later than they had said they'd be, and there was some confusion about exactly where to meet, but we got the canisters in plenty of time to get them loaded up for the hike.

Now that is customer service!

True story...
Met up with B² that day in Tuolumne, in front of the store - surprised to recognize him. He said he was awaitin' Bearikade; they were late, (Go figure), but anticipated anytime. I had to go catch a PowerPoint/ discussion on the Clark's Nut-catcher at the Parson's Lodge @ Soda Springs, (so did not wait) - glad they showed up with his cans.
He invited me for Meadow cocktails later :partyman:, but somehow plans must have changed/ missed out...Meadows were nice though.

Yes, very nice to meet you (finally), Mark! Sorry the cocktails didn't work out, but we'll do it again later, eh? :) Let's see, so far I'm just 2...wait 3 for ... well, I don't know how many. Met up with Sierra Maclure two years ago in the Valley backpacker's camp, and Markskor this year. Oh, and of course I met up with George Durkee at Charlotte Lake two years ago, too... Always nice to run into HST people in the Sierra, where we all belong!

I think its likely many of us have met each other, but you would never know unless you recognized someone's picture. Internet just isn't topic of discussion between backcountry strangers And wow....delivery at the trailhead! Pretty awesome.
