Cheap Down Coat

Postby gary c. » Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:56 am

I remember there were a couple posts last year about inexpensive down coats so I thought I'd post this one. It's not by a major manufacture and the fill could be better but for $35 you could abuse it and not care.

Nice price here but,
Experience says duck down often stinks when wet.

Cabelas has a light 700 fill down jacket on sale right now too. I think it was 50 or 60$

Hmmm... You mean literally, as in it smells bad, or figuratively, as in it doesn't stay warm? Oop, never mind, down never stays warm when wet, so you must mean it literally. Ew.

Cabelas has some inexpensive/cheap down coats right now. Listed as "goose down." The Cabelas 550 is on sale for $20 plus shipping. The Cabelas 650 is on sale for $45. I think the number stands for how much insulation, but thats just a guess.
