Too many variables to make a single definitive list.

It depends on where I am going, expected weather, other planned activities, etc.

I have been known to wear cotton t-shirts and shorts in hot weather.

I gotta have clean underwear and socks every day. A personal preference, so I pack heavy to those.

2 pair smartwool socks
1 pair nylon shorts
2 pairs underwear (ex-officio briefs)
1 pair light weight tights
Marmot Precip pants
1 synthetic T shirt
1 silkweight longsleeve shirt
Marmot Driclime jacket or MH Transition light (both are a little warm and windproof)
OR swift cap
1 wool hat
1 pair light fleece gloves
1 gore-tex paclight jacket
1 down sweater

shorts, T shirt and maybe wind shirt during the day and change into tights long sleeves and rain pants in the evening plus the wind shirt or down jacket. Wash the T shirt out every other day or so at lunch. I rarely use my rain jacket but can't seem to leave it behind (too many years of living in Seattle). Same for a 2 week trip except I might add another T shirt and socks

I don't find the Driclime shirt that great. Lots of folks love them, but I haven't found mine to be that warm, although it cuts the wind, somewhat of a cross between a breathable shirt and a windbreaker.

The Driclime was great for Patagonia when we lived in them, in the Sierras I usually only wear it at the beginning of the day at at breaks/hanging out on summits. I forgot my other essential piece of gear - cycling arm warmers. Combined w/ T-shirt they make a really nice way to control warmth since my pack keeps my core fairly warm and they're easy to take on or off on the fly.

Oh, right: forgot the bandana when I posted my list! I usually carry two (one drying, one in use). General purpose neckerchief, face-towel, bandage, tourniquet (!), bug-deflector, pot-washer, sweat-mopper, and snot-rag (ewww! But I find I quickly forget what I last used it for... just as well, I suppose :p)

I need to get some silk underwear for sleeping in and get rid of the silk liner. Now if I could find a top with a hood to protect the top of my sleeping bad from my hair, I would be set. Thanks for jogging my memory maverick. Something else to buy.
