High Sierra Topix

I have a birthday coming up, and my wife keeps asking me what I want.

(I look at her in the bedroom and leer with a smile on my face, but that doesn't count).

I cannot think of a single thing I need or want (or want that's realistic and obtainable). I don't need another gadget that will get little to no use, and all my gear is in good enough shape so nothing needs replacing. I still have plenty of books I am reading from my Christmas list.

OK, dave4, based on your location at the meeting of the Sierra, Cascades, and Great Basin (which as I've read your posts here has alway resonated with me as a lover of the sagebrush sea) you want/need an anthology of Ian Tyson's cowoby music, including his albums "Cowboyography" and "Old Corrals and Sagebrush" at least! Even if you're new to this, you'll love it and so will your sweetie (I think). There's no greater feeling than the sense of oneness with the place you're at, and his music evokes that feeling so well. Give it a try!
