European Outdoor Company- Decathlon

Post by venturefar »

I read on Outside online that the European gear retailer Decathlon is coming to the states. Has anyone heard anything about their gear?

The article is an interesting read.

Quechua is Decathlon's in house brand for outdoorsy stuff. When we were in Spain this past summer hiking in the Picos de Europa everyone we saw was clad in Quechua gear. My friend and his wife we were staying with had plenty of Quechua gear and said it's pretty good quality, on par with REI and MEC house branded stuff.

As someone who's from Europe, I've used my fair share of Decathlon kit and it's pretty good, everyone seems to be satisfied with their stuff, from hikers and fishermen to tennis players and swimmers. Hell, if I'm not mistaken, the French special forces sometimes use Decathlon boots in hot spots.
