Where to try out UL Packs

Post by zacjust32 »

I'm looking into getting more UL gear and I need a lighter backpack. I've talked to everyone I saw on the trail using a homemade pack and got some great recommendation, and I'm trying to narrow it down. REI is great with returns and that stuff, but they have little to no actual UL gear for testing. Is there anywhere you know that would let me try on some packs made by smaller companies? I know these cottage industries have great customer service, but I'd hate to have to send them back if they don't work out. I'm in the Fresno area, but I'm willing to make a trip.
