Google Earth Pro is now free

Post by mschnaidt »

Hey Everyone,

Google Earth Pro is now free. I saw this online last night. It's for real. Just click on the sign-up link on the page linked below. They require some very basic info. I had an email with a license key a minute later. It seems to run faster than the regular version and the imagery is higher resolution.

Enjoy!

Nice to know. Thanks for sharing. Never underestimate the placebo effect though. :)

What are the added features you get?

I haven't played with it much yet. What attracted me was the high res images and the movie maker. Here's a screenshot of a feature comparison.

I think you will need the license key they send you after a successful registration to access the pro version.

I hope it works for you Russ.

I'm set-up as well. High traffic on the sign-up site. It failed 3 times but success on the 4th.

Anyone else have a problem with Open Software Updater being installed along with GE Pro?

I wouldn't touch any of those links, btw. My PC wedged nicely this am upon restart. No desktop. I hit my last restore point, and the system is back except for GE Pro. I am now hesitant to redo that install. I'll wait until MS patch Tuesday and then try installation again.

I installed GE Pro straight from Google site, then when it asked me for account and key, I went to google and kept trying to sign up until it was successful, then gave it the key.

Me too! The "Open Software Updater" appears to be a "bundled" app. It is useless Malware from what i researched. As I said, i'll try it again next Tuesday.

BTW, i think the resolution on both products are the same. Depends on the camera as the pics are the same.. from space... I didn't see anything that proves PRO is better.
