A month late, but here it is . . . .
Monday, 22 October 2007 (day 4 of 4)
Pyramid Peak (11,724') south of Mammoth Lakes

On my 51st birthday, my plan was to climb Pyramid Peak just south of Mammoth Lakes. I didn't find any beta on this peak, and chose a route by looking at a map. It was tougher than expected with manzanita and big boulders and no sign of a use trail. I got into some deep snow between boulders, lost elevation to get around, thought about how long it would take me from where I was to summit, the drive home and getting to work on time, and gave up on summitting. I'll try a different way next time.

I took a geography class during the winter session and whenever I see pictures of rocks, I tend to try and figure out what types of rocks they are, how they were formed, and where they came from. Thanks alot Mr. Powell . The pictures were beautiful.
