Saturday morning drove up near Mammoth to the Sherwin Creek Rd. to
meet Snow Nymph, Trailtreekr and Rachel. together we all commuted up to the Bloody trailhead where we hiked Bloody Mtn. awesome views all day long including Mono Lake, Mammoth, the Minerettes, Bear Creek Spire, and lots of other lakes and peaks.

the only downside of the day - when we got back down to where we
left my truck - someone had blocked my truck in with their oversized
lifted truck. only good navigation and driving got me out without
tearing up the desert and truck. finished off the day with dinner at
Whoa Neli Deli in Lee Vining and then back to Mammoth to relax at
the condo(not mine).

Sunday morning - was originally going to hike Baldwin - but the gals
looked kinda worn out from Friday and Saturday hikes - so we picked
a peak with less miles. after a great breakfast in Mammoth drove
over to South Lake in Bishop where we hiked Hurd Peak from the South
Lake trailhead. we went up Bishop Pass trailhead and around Long
Lake for the approach. after a short gain it was mostly class III
from there including some pretty "airy" type moves. excellent views
of Sill, Aggasiz, Cloudripper and more.

was another great hiking weekend. one loss though - I blew out my
second pair of boots this year - looks like I will be lucky to get
by with 3 pair of boots this year. another fine weekend spent above 10k feet - working on 17+ and no sign of stopping soon.

What type of run was going on Saturday on your way to Mammoth? - it looks like a large group of runners.

the kids all looked between 8-13; so I assume it was some type of summer camp

Tom..Those are such nice beautiful pictures of both days! I love the reddish slopes around Bloody Mountain...a little bit of a different area. Nice that you all still had some flowers in bloom. The Sierra is sure dry  ..just specks here and there of snow. Looks like everyone had a good two days

Love Cori's gaiters..very cute :D

No internet service at the new home yet . . . I'm sitting in the old apartment right now and its really hot and miserable here, :retard: but I shouldn't complain since it was rent free for 4 months. :D We still have internet service here, and the new place won't get hooked up til next week, so it'll take a few days to get pix up. :computer:

Here's the pix from Bloody Mtn:
