Woke up at 2am after a night of semi heavy drinking (horrible, horrible idea) drove 5 hours to Saddlebag lakes climbed North Peak via the southwest face. 5 hours round trip. Worst part is from Conness Lakes to the plateau between Conness and North- super loose. Great views from the summit. Rain clouds were trying to form but never materialized. People were catching some small but super colorful Goldens out of the middle Conness Lakes.

Ate fish tacos at Whoa Nellie Deli, drove 2 hours to Lone Pine, got my Whitney permit, did some 4 wheelin at 'bama hills, drove up to Whitney Portal early evening. Downed a burger. (come on now, its not that good as people say, even after hiking for hours) There was definitely some rain and maybe a lil thunder up there but it cleared up later that evening.

Took a couple hour nap in the back of my car, started hiking up the main trail (chickened out of Mountaineers Route solo) at 11pm, uneventful. Felt pretty easy actually, much better than the first time I did it few years ago. No snow anywhere except for super small patches but some running water on the trail to get your feet wet. Got to the top at 4:30am, freezin ass cold. Took a quick nap in the hut and watched the sunrise, got down to the car at 11am.

Downed a couple beers, drove 8 hours home.

42 hours from when i left my house- 15 hours of driving, 17 hours of hiking/climbing, 10 hours of naps, eating, 4 wheeling and lounging. Back at work this morning, writing this instead of working.

Got some pics but what should i use to post it?
