TR - Spanish Needle in the Southern Sierra

Post by KathyW » Mon Oct 19, 2015 5:20 pm

It took me 8 years to go back and try Spanish Needle again, but Cherry, Leo, and Harlan were nice enough to give it a go on 10/10/15. It was tough crossing those chutes, but not as bad as I remembered and we made it to the summit. Back in 2007, the snow on the final section stopped me. This time it was clear sailing. The parts that I worried about were pretty easy such as the slab crossing and the jump across, but there was one section that was a little uncomfortable downclimbing near the summit.
