Conditions of Tyndall/Williamson?

Post by manbartz »

Hi,

I will be in the Tyndall Creek area on 6/11 during the middle of my groups 8 day trek. We plan on taking a layover day in this area, somewhere around the junction of the JMT and the Shepherd Pass Trail.

I am thinking of bagging Tyndall and Williamson during that layover day with a friend while the rest of the group hangs around camp. We both have ice axes and crampons, and are familiar with self-arrest techniques. I have read numerous TRs.

Just wondering the conditions of the two peaks. Has anyone been out in the Shepherd Pass area recently that can relay some info? Any other advice or tips for the area?

Thanks!
