Post by calicokat »

John and I bushwacked ourselves up George Creek to climb Mt. Barnard (13,990', GPS showed 14,006' hmmm) and Trojan Peak (13,950').

Wow, cool TR and pictures. Can't believe the amount of snow (lack of snow coverage)
in Wallace Basin so early in the year. :\

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Nice TR! George Creek is a pretty good bushwack. Pretty amazing views from the summit of Trojan!

Interesting on the elevation. Mount Barnard was once listed as a 14000 foot peak, and in the early days ( not sure it was 20's or 30's) was a popular climb with Sierra club outings. A lot of people were disappointed when
it was reduced to 13990.

When I climbed Barnard in 2010 my GPS showed 14,007. Only mountain so far I spotted big horn sheep about 50 feet from the summit.
