Waters of the Golden Trout Country

Post by Gooflinger »

I just finished reading Waters of the Golden Trout Country by Charles McDermand. What a great read and a must for anyone who loves the High Sierra and the boundless trout fishing it has to offer. I can only hope to visit half the places he did...but any day or weekend trip you can muster up is worth every minute in the Range of Light!

Certainly one of my most treasured books along with Yosemite and Kings Canyon Trout. He has a wonderful way of telling stories and allowing us to vicariously experience his adventures. They are always near my bedside table.

I loved McDermand's two books, which I read as a teenager. For anyone who wants a copy, they come up for sale on eBay from time to time.

I love bacon and have always wanted to try McDermand's favorite trout cooking method--frying in bacon fat.
