High Sierra Topix

I have already posted on the fishing hole but not getting much input so Ill post it here. I'm taking my brother and a friend of his from Hawaii up to the Rae lakes next wed. We plan on getting to onion valley in the afternoon and getting acclimated at either Gilbert or flower lake. We then plan on heading to the Rae lakes and spending a layover day hiking to either Dragon Lake or Baxter lakes. The ? Is with fishing being primary, would you do the trek to Baxter lakes or just hike up to dragon lake.
Also, we are planning on doing a loop up through the notch by dollar lake to 60 lakes since I would love to finally see that area. Are all of the lakes the basin fish less? When I got my permit a few weeks ago, the ranger stated that the northern lakes have fish.
On the way out, we can stop at either Kearsarge lakes or head over to Charlotte lake for a night, any preferences. Thanks, Phil

I was just at Dragon Lake a couple of weeks ago; lot's o fish, but not so big. Don't know about Baxter. I also went thru 60 Lakes, I didn't fish there but did see many very small fish in the northern lakes.

Any one know if there are bigger fish at baxter or just the usual 8-10" freight trains. Depending on the day, we may just head to baxter for the whole day just to snoop around.

Hiked the Rae Lakes loop two weeks ago. Gorgeous trip, great 8 days out

Had good fishing at Arrowhead Lake and Middle Rae Lakes, but only small fish. Saw small fish at Dragon lake as well.

Went to Sixty Lakes Basin from the Rae Lakes side. All the lakes I saw had nets and no fish. Saw a frog and some tadpoles, so their restoration for the yellow legged frog seems to be going well!
