Smoke around Bear Lakes Basin?

Postby sctopdx » Tue Jul 30, 2013 7:26 pm

Hey All,
Has anyone heard of fires affecting the Bear Lakes Basin? I read there were some people who got lost around Italy Pass due to smoke issues. It may be a bit early to be asking this as I'm not headed there until late August.
Thanks in advance,
SCtoPDX

Hi Sctopdx,

Welcome to HST! They should easily have this wildfire under control by the end of
August, let's just hope that there will not be any others.

They are reporting 45% containment now...

http://www.inciweb.org/incident/3552/

I was on a car camping trip with grandkids last week in SEKI and tho annoying, it didn't seem thick enuf there to cause real problems. The fire is near Huntington tho to folks around Bear Basin would have more of it....
