Exactly, in fact, being temporarily anything unexpected and not panic is a sign of experience. Panic is the number one killer. It goes the other way as well. Complacency can get you into places you really didn't belong. I learned this many years ago in sport diving. There's an old adage that new divers embolize and old divers bend.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.
