Thanks for asking.

We went to Cottonwood Lakes. It was definitely a good decision. We only had smoke in the morning at Tuttle Creek CG just above Lone Pine. That was our home base with a pop up trailer. I think it allowed us to acclimate to the altitude. That was on Monday, last week, and then we hiked in on Tuesday from the TH up at the parking lot. We then spent two nights camped out in a fine campsite next to Lake 1. We day hiked and explored on Wednesday, and came down Thursday morning. there was absolutely no smoke up at the Cottonwood lakes.
