lundy canyon this weekend - any info?

I took my brother and his girls up to east lake last year about this time and avoided mosquitoes so I thought we'd try something similar by going up Lundy Lakes trail up to Oneida Lake. There are a few old mines and there is supposed to be some descent fishing so we should have some a nice easy, interesting weekend. I spoke with the Inyo ranger station, and was told there is a restriction for the whole area for campfires, so no smores. I am interested in any info on fishing up there, and any suggestions for camping locations at any of the 3 lakes at the top of the trail. Thanks, Phil

You will find plenty of campsites at Oneida Lake.
Have read that Blue Lake (12" brookies) and Oneida Lake (brookies) have good fishing.

thanks mav, didn't want to get up to Oneida and find out the good campsites were at blue lake. Also, brookies will probably be better since I need quantity not quality.

Acme Mapper in topo mode shows a 4wd rd from Lundy Dam; follows the s shore all the way to Blue/edge of Hoova Wilderness. It looks like a gate or rocks across the entrance. Anybody know if it's open and or passable?
