distance question

I was wondering if anybody had info on a fairly accurate distance from the west side of Gem Lake to Garnett Lake, taking the trail through the Clark Lake area and up (not by Thousand Island). I know I can get an approx from the topos but the trail winds around a bit so I thought maybe somebody had an idea.

Same question for the Mono/Parker pass trailhead to Gem Lake. I think I read it's 16.5 miles but maybe that is not the case...appreciate any info.
