Strange skeeter bites on pads of hands?

Post by overheadx2 »

I just got back from Green Creek / East lake area. I noticed that both my brother and I had what appeared to be several mosquito bites on the hard pads of our fingers. I have never had a skeeter bite the calloused area of my hand or fingers and thought it was odd that I had no other bites except for those. As they developed over the next several days, they continued just like skeeter bites and became hard and very, very itchy. They have resolved a week later, but I was curious if any one had any ideas or past experience. Maybe a plant sting, chigger bite?

Not real positive but I don't believe Chigger's live in California. I only remember hearing about them down south.
Better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it!
