Anyone know the current snow level at Emigrant Wilderness trailheads, or at some of the trailheads between there and the Carson Pass area?

A ranger at Alamador told me today that one of the trailheads at about 8000 feet near Carson Pass still had 3 feet of snow. It is a heavily forested area, so it holds onto snow...Still, I was surprised. She says the area got some snow this week.

I should just go to Kibbie Lake, but that doesn't excite me for some reason.

Crazy big ugly link, but if you zoom in I think this is pretty accurate. Especially if you use the specific station reports.

Just got an email and pix from my sister who lives near Tahoe. She hiked on Carson Pass. There was plenty of snow before Lake Winnemucca, but it was passable. Going further, up to Roundtop Lake was too snowed in and icy for just hiking boots.
