Don't have a lot of time right now to do a full trip report but wanted to provide some info if useful. Left Lake Thomas Edison on the 5th for a hike up to Pioneer basin. Creeks are running really high. Laurel creek only passable with a large detour up the Laurel Creek trail. Hopkins was high enough it was turning around hikers and we saw them headed back down. It was according to them unpassable. We changed our trip based on that. Mosquitoes were quite heavy all the way up to 10,500. There is still lots of snow with lots of wet ground and trails. Expect to get wet and bit, but the flowers are beautiful right now. Will do a full update later with picts, but hope this update can be useful for those heading out this week.

This is a picture I took on June 21, flying back to Seattle from a get-together with some friends from high school and a short trip to Mt. Rainier. The lake is Edison. Admittedly it's already been 20 days since this pic, (first try at posting a pic on the web) but it gives a sense of the snow still up there.http://www.msnusers.com/MyStorage.msnw

Try right clicking on the image and select 'properties'. In the properties you will find the complete URL for the image (typically ending in .jpg). Copy the complete URL and then post it to the board using the URL button before and after the URL.
