That Time Again

Post by RoguePhotonic »

Tomorrow I once again set out to wander the Sierra and like every year before it's bigger and longer. If all goes well this will be a total trip of 140 days or more.

Will I make it back alive again? Who can say. But I found a notation in my journal from a few years ago probably detailing my first major trek into the wild and it's just as fitting this time around:

"If at some point on this journey into the heart and soul through the surrounding great uncertainty and unknown I lose my life I hope that no one views this fate as failure to whatever end, for I do not. I took the step that so few are brave enough to take, I embraced the journey, I lived the adventure, and for what little life society offered me I know I have found greater life else where and I have no regrets!"

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Geez, if this thread doesn't belong in the Backpacking forum, not sure what the heck does. Moving it there, and looking forward to following your latest adventure, Rogue. Good luck!

Lol yes it probably will be as long as War and Peace! :D

Who knows maybe one of you will see me wandering around out there. I seem to run into the same people each year.

I'm bringing 144 gigs of camera memory so I can bring back lots of photos. Maybe allot of video this time around also.

Rogue I wish you a very safe journey. I hope you enjoy every moment. The universe is a free flow of improvisation, and I feel things like this mirror that true nature.

Striking out into the unknown gets right into the heart of the matter....truly living in the eternal moment.
