Tamarack Creek TH to El Cap Info Needed

Post by wildrose »

Hi, First time posting here. Been following the back country condition in this forum for couple of weeks.
I have a permit from 7/1 to 7/4 entering Yosemite NP from Tamarack Creek TH to North Rim and do a loop hike along North Rim. My planned hike was Tamarack Creek TH going south to North Rim, following that till Upper Yosemite Falls, then turning north by following Yosemite Creek, cross Tioga Road, reach White Wolf, then loop back through Aspen Valley back to Tamarack Creek TH.

Now with this type of snow and water level, I'm thinking to cut the loop short by omitting the north part of Tioga Road, but still do the Tamarack Creek to North Rim part. How's snow coverage up there, and the creek crossing conditions along Tamarack Creek and Yosemite Creek?

Thanks for all the info.

By they way, I'll have a group of 7 people, we did mostly dry trails in the past, class 1, some class 2 backpacking up to 10 days on JMT.
