Hello All,
Well, the trip plans are coming along quite well and the excitement continues to build. We have pretty much all of our gear and have started the kids (and us!) on training hikes. I hate to have you all respond to this topic again, but please take a moment if you have some info that can help us. We are ready to lock in on the game plan for a re-supply over or near Kearsage Pass. I need to know names of outfitters who have been known to provide this service. I also recall reading that we can hike to their base camp and pick up the box. We decided to take 2 bear cannisters and 1-2 Ursacks for our family of five. 1 Ursack is for garbage generated by both families (9 people) and the other is for "foods that will be edible anyway if reduced to powder form". Lastly, we decided to use a tent/tarp made by Dan Cooke (voyageur BW) called the Lean 3. Tent and poles is 8# - less if a ridgline is used instead of some of the poles and sleeps five adults. Am wondering about what kind of material (lighweight) we can put on the ground. Let me know if you have any experience with this particular tarp/tent.
Thanks, Lisa
