i found that the switchbacks going out of tehipite valley not to be all that bad. a nice slow pace and early morning start. i got up out of the valley in really good time. i counted off 68 of them, give or take.

the switchbacks that i don't like are, as mentioned, the giant 2 foot step stones some trail crews like building with... the ones that wreck knees on the uphill - lol
