We hiked 34 miles this past July 4 weekend first time in this area, looking for lower elevation due to late snow. We were told snow level was 7000. Here's what we found:

Summary: Mostly snow-free, with little patches of snow except: longer patches on trail east of Bayer Lakes and between Island Lake and Milk Lake. Extended snow either side of Grouse Ridge and on Sand Ridge trail to Glacier Lake. All was melting off fast however. Despite the fast melt, all stream crossing were no problem.

Details: Trails hiked: Eagle Lakes to Blue/Baltimore Lake trail where we took a right and went far as Bayer Lakes. Returned, past our junction and then went up to Grouse Ridge Campground and then onto Glacier Lake. Returned from Glacier Lake to trail junction at end of Sand Ridge then North past Shotgun Lake ( great swimming) then looped around to Penner, Crooked and Island Lake. Then to Round and Milk Lake, back past Grouse Ridge and back to Eagle Lakes. Great weather with no wind and beautiful lakes.

Our perspective: We are seasoned backpackers with some natural resource background.
