I'm planning a backpacking trip, I will be taking some less experienced people that can't walk a great distance, 4 miles one way tops. Will be going around 7/4 weekend. I'm thinking Dinkey Lakes, anyone have a guess on how bad mosquitoes will be at that time in Dinkey.
Anyone have any suggetions of other destinations that may be less mosquitoed.

Thank You

Dinkey will still be under snow next week. The mosquitoes will be out later in July, I expect.

Road to Courtright is still closed, and the dirt road to the other trailhead is likely impassable.

You will not escape mosquitoes in any location where snow is melted enough to hike without postholing.

Minarets is only open to Arch Rock, so can't get to Ansel Adams Wilderness.

Paradise Valley in Kings Canyon is gorgeous right now, without stream crossings. About six miles in with a gentle uphill, downhill back to the car.
