I saw the "A" as well but if you look over to the left margin you see that the "A" denotes Kings Canyon NP. That's the way Google Maps works. If it's not sure of an "address" it will list several possibilities, and label them alphabetically. So most times there's an A, B, etc. But in this case, only one location marker.
