Tioga Road Closed

Looks like they Closed Tioga pass: http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/conditions.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

no tracks on the road..

Not sure why the lights are still on at the shack though..

Anbody know if this is it for the season? Or are they planning to plow?

My guess is if we do not get any major storm next week they will re-open.
Also don't they usually write "closed for the season" as opposed to "road closed"
on the NPS site when they are permanently closed.

Last year, the first week of Oct. I was in the backcountry for four nights and came back to my Civic with a flyer on the windshield saying the Tioga Pass Road was closed. By the time I ended my trip, all the snow had melted off, so I had no issue leaving. I only had to walk thru snow the second day out, headed to Sunrise Lakes and early the third day, headed to Polly Dome Lake from there.

the NPS Yose site just flipped Tioga road status to open. Looks pretty up there with the dusting of snow.
