does anybody know of a good secluded cabin rental?

Post by kevintwomey »

Hi All,
my apologies for going soft and wanting a cabin, but my wife and i want to just relax in a little more comfort than a tent. we are coming from san francisco in a prius so we hope the drive is not going to be much more than 3 hours and does not require a 4x4, but we are looking for peace and quiet with little or nobody else around during the oct 9th weekend. if anybody has any recommendations that would be wonderful. our main activity will be hiking so we are also looking for some beautiful hiking trails.

I suspect most places will be pretty quiet and uncrowded in october - although check out the dates for the start of hunting season in the various areas you might visit. Here are a few ideas:

The only one I have stayed at is Gray Eagle. Nice cabins, and plenty of good food, lots of nice trails in the Lakes Basin, some right from the resort.
