"Foerster Ridge" Pass, Yosemite, advice?

Post by adam »

Hi,

I would like to modify Roper's Sierra High Route between Twin Island Lake and Yosemite to include the Lyell fork of the Merced River. One option appears to be "Foerster Ridge" (p. 386 of the 1999 printing of Secor) north of blue lake pass, descending into the hanging valley between Foerster peak and mt. ansel adams, then down to lake 10217. Secor describes this as class 2, but doesn't say anything more. If any of you have been on it and can tell me what it's like-- especially if it's a long talus slog-- I'd really appreciate the information.

thanks very much,
adam
