Thanks so much for that photo of Cabin Lake.I relive a memorable event in my life just looking at it.My best friend and I spent a few days there in 1973,our junior year in high school.Cabin Lake was aptly named for the mining cabin that graced the area just west of that campsite you mentioned. The Forest Service, not allowing permanent structures in the wilderness, removed the roof, windows, and door but left an appealing shelter with a large stone fireplace. While on a dayhike on one of the surrounding high ridges,we noticed a plume of smoke coming from the cabin's direction about three miles away.We hurried back to find the structured fully engulfed with all of our equipment still inside. We spent the next 5 hours shuttling water from the stream with our stuff sacks(day packs we had with us) trying to contain the fire.We remembered earlier two old mining shovels leaning against a tree not far away.We spent more time putting out the ground fires and surrounding trees and shrubs. The fire finally got to the point where we could get close enough and push in the walls with our shovels. We had it down to a smolder when a ranger showed up and escorted us to his camp somewhere close to Shadow Lake.We spent a sleepless night there and hiked to Agnew Meadows the next morning, only then realizing the car keys were in the cabin. How we finally got home is another tale....And that boys and girls is how Cabin Lake got its name.

Thank you for that story, now I will have that picture of a burning cabin in my mind
when ever I look at that photo.
The campsite was to the right of the snow between the trees, where was the cabin approx
located, near the little use trail heading west?

Yes,that use trail heads west and eventually meets the main trail down to Ediza, does'nt it? If I remember correctly the cabin was about 50 yards west of the outlet stream.
