I'll be on the JMT from June 18th to July 5th, does anyone know if the snowpack this year will warrant crampons?

Hi Elwood,
Five days ago, I ran into a guy doing the HST followed by the JMT and he was out sans ice axe/crampons and seemed unworried. All the snow I hit was perfectly fine (up to 12,400 ft). I'm sure you'll be OK, as long as you give a little time for the sun to warm things up (if there is sun!!).

Like CG said, time your passes for later in the day, use trekking poles, and
you will be fine.
