Wonder Lakes above Lamarck Lake

Post by KC JED »

Has anyone been to Wonder Lakes near Lamarck Lake in the Eastern Sierra? I dayhiked up to Lamarck last summer and I would like to plan a backpack past lamarck up to the Wonder Lakes Basin. Are there any decent spots to set up a base camp with a party of five near Wonder Lakes. Also, do they allow campfires in that basin?

Yes there are several good spots and no campfires.
I believe there are no campfires above 10400 ft south of Glacier Divide unless
that has changed.

The "lower" Wonder Lakes have decent campsites; I seem to remember the upper lakes being surrounded by talus/boulders.

Generally, no fires above 10,000' "anywhere"
