Sierra-Trails: The Lyell Fork of the Merced River

Post by DoyleWDonehoo »

I have a new Sierra-Trails story, The Lyell Fork of the Merced River, something I have been working on for years, really! Lots of roadblocks this year: work, sickness, trips, tech problems, you name it. Finally, it is done. Happy birthday to me.

Here is a link to the beginning of the story:

Here is a teaser page that also has a picture from one of our BB members:

Stupendous job; if you've not alerted folks (like me, who often do not look beyond the backpacking forum), this should be cross referenced there!

Thanks for the trip report, its about time(chuckle).
Im happy this part of Yosmite is far enough from the trailheads
that it hasn't gotten overused and abused.
The last time I visited that area those creeks where like raging
rivers, hopefully we will get more snow this winter which is likely
since the reports show a strong La Nina forming.

Thanks Doyle, another great guide. I spent a memorable night years ago at Bernice Lake watching a lightning display over the Clark Range/ Glacier Pt.. A special spot.
