Acquaintance missing in Lake Italy area

Post by mountaineer »

Someone I know is missing. Here is the link to the story. What I don't understand is they said he had planned on coming out in the Bear Creek area "north of Bishop and south of Mammoth". If he was at Lake Italy, I would assume he was coming over the pass near Bear Creek Spire and out at Mosquito Flat(Rock Creek). My guess is he is holed up somewhere because of the recent bad weather and just waiting to be found. Hopefully he didn't try to get out during the storm.

Just confirmed it with Fresno S.O. They believe he had a broken wrist. He is probably at the hospital in Bishop already.

hope this has a good outcome - everyone should back from the mountains -- maybe he just had to change palns when the storm came in - please keep this story updated

Yep, he was found this morning. Several Caltrans employees were actively looking from both the east and west. Glad it turned out okay. Here's the story from the Sierra Wave.

Good news! And a happy ending! :D
