Doin' a little last minute planning for some car camping this coming weekend, and I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on the snow levels in areas like Mammoth, Convict Lake, McGee, and so on (Eastern Sierra basically)...

I'm thinkin' maybe Bishop through Mammoth area, but want to avoid the inevitable crowds in that area!

As of today it is between 6 and 7 thousand feet. A dusting below that. A chance of snow in the Mammoth area between wednesday and thursday night.

It warmed up Mon/Tues. SnowDude said the streets in Mammoth (at 8,000') are slushy and water is running from snow melt. With freezing temps at night, its icy.

Hope the storm holds off til I get to town tomorrow night!
