Post by Rosabella »

I just got back yesterday from my High Sierra Camp loop-trip with my sister. We had such a great time! I was a little skeptical (to say the least) about the “guided tripâ€

Snow cut my trip short last fall, Merced Lake looked like a great place for semi-backpacking families. Lets see, after leaving the TH at TM, I saw 2 people the second day out, and a hand full of people at Sunrise Lakes area my 3rd day. Went home the 4th day due to conditions. No bears.

Waiting for your photos.
Piece of cake.

That sounds like a fun and informative trip Rosabella - thanx for posting. I was unaware of the HS Loop Trip. I'll have to keep it in mind. It's always nice to learn more about the places we visit so often.

Thanks! Yup, it was a fun and interesting trip!

I've been going thru LOTS of pictures, but I've posted a few pictures of the H.S. Loop.

Nice pics. I missed some nice country last fall by not making it there. I did the loop clockwise, or what I finished. Thank you.
Piece of cake.

Rosie, sounds like you did not have any health problems similar to last year during your JMT hike. Good news.

Yes!!! I'm really excited about it! \:D/ I can take off Thursday, Sept. 27, and I'll need to start heading back by Tuesday Oct. 2nd.

I'm game for anything; what worked for the last few group hikes? Backpacking trip.... hike in to base camp with dayhikes.... car-camp with day hikes..... any of the above, or any other ideas. Honestly, you know the area much better than I do, so if you just picked a place that has easy access and fun to do in a couple days - that would be great!!

I'm just really excited about the prospect of meeting a few of the Board Members, and having a great weekend camping. I'll bring my harmonica... it's fun around the campfire.
