Big Meadow Cr Yosemite

Anyone familiar with Big Meadow Creek which joins Slide Canyon in Yosemite? I'm wondering if it's possible to follow the creek to the top then stay high to contour around the west slope of the ridge, then around the north end to the lakes below Burro Pass. If memory serves me it's a lot of open slabs and moderate slopes but would love confirmation. Biggest question mark is getting from the top of the creek drainage around to north slope of ridge. Just looking for something different rather than taking Slide Canyon to the trail. Not looking for anything too technical. Thanks!
