Another Robinson Pk

Post by will_jrob »

On 7/10 I made the hike to the Robinson Peak(10,793) near Bridgeport, CA. The day started partly cloudy, but by mid-afternoon there was full cloud cover and a few sprinkles. The route follows the trail from Buckeye campground up Eagle Creek, then easy xctry to the summit, the high point of a ridge which faces Matterhorn Pk. and Sawtooth Ridge. There were few mosquitos, but plenty of wildflowers, aster to yarrow, along the trail which stays close to the creek. Below the ridgeline conditions were comfortable, but on top there was a strong, chilly breeze. The view was great, but distant vistas of desert ranges were hazy from smoke.
