Here is another of my favorite scenes...Graveyard Lakes.
Of course, watching the early morning sun hit these magnificent peaks ranks right up there also...
And, to finish off this batch of eye candy, this view is in my top 5.

It ain't much by way of comparison, but because I dig DomeLand so much and the adventures I've had there I am kind of partial to this pic from my last trip there in November:

Nice pic! I have had my eye on the Domelands for a while for my next excursion. Care to divulge your secret? Do any climbing there?

Don't climb (except to get somewhere, like a fishing hole), but the opportunities would seem boundless. The pic is actually on the S.Fork Kern looking up at White Dome from near the Rockhouse Meadow area (south end of Rockhouse Basin). If I
were a climber, White Dome sure looks like it would be one crazy route. But there are plenty of other domes and outcroppings in the area too. It seems like most of the climbing opportunities would be easier accessed from the west side, by going from Big Meadow over a saddle and down into the Manter Meadow area. I went that way in July on a day hike with wifey and it was really cool, definitely more rock in that area including Rockhouse Peak and Church Dome. I've read some climber reports of ascents of these, seems like it would be pretty cool without being overly hairy but then I don't really know alot about climbing other than I try to avoid it
The flyfishing is good too, at the right time of year. The S.Fork Kern is kind of a sketchy crossing in the spring.

Close. The wall is Spring Lake Wall and drops down to Spring Lake. The lake in the photo is Columbine Lake.
