Great report! When I went over Longley pass in July,, I did look longingly over to the lakes above Josephine... maybe someday.

Wow! What a fantastic route, and excellent TR. I am just now pouring over the map, shamelessly following you guys along to an area I know next to nothing about. Those pictures from above Josephine Lake are stunning, as are so many others. My wife and I and friend's are off to Tablelands later this week, and when they aren't looking, I will drop over the edge and slide down to Big Bird Lake, and off I'll go! Very nice trip report! Cloud Canyon is my favorite place in the Sierra and I never get tired of looking at photos of the Whaleback. I ran into those cliffs above Tamarack Lake when I climbed down out of Cloud Canyon. I nearly died...
