I had my "lightning experience" on the back side of Yosemite. Caught up in a flat basin and had to get over a saddle next to a couple of peaks while thunder/lighting roared all around. Pretty sure I have mild PTSD from that situation (not trying to compare to those that have been through much tougher situations in life). It was crazy how fast the storm formed and was over us. Like others, I'm definitely more conservative now when hiking in the sierra. All passes are done by midday and maintain awareness of 'safer' locations although no place is truly 100% safe.
