If you don't mind high-traffic areas, you could do a point-to-point utilizing the YARTS bus by starting at the Mono/Parker Pass trailhead in Yosemite (just west of Tioga Pass), going over Parker Pass, Koip Peak Pass (this one is 12,000 feet), down to Gem Lake, then up to Agnew Lakes, over to Thousand Island Lake, down the JMT to hit Garnet and Ediza Lakes, out to Agnew Meadows or Devil's Postpile. The YARTS bus will take you between Minaret Summit and Tuolumne Meadows. Leaving your car at Minaret Summit is probably the easiest. The Reds Meadow shuttle will get you from Agnew Meadow/Devil's Postpile back to Minaret Summit, and the Tuolumne Meadows shuttle will get you from the Meadows up to the Mono Pass/Parker Pass trailhead (3 trips a day); or the YARTS bus might even drop you off there. This trip hits a lot of stunning scenery on the east side without the big climbs. Mono/Parker pass TH almost always has permits available; I've done 5 trips out of there and always just got a walk-up permit for the same day. If you don't want to deal with the buses for a point-to-point, you can do a nice loop starting at Mono/Parker Pass on the route I described as far as 1000 Island Lake, then return north on the JMT over Donohue Pass to Tuolumne Meadows. Then you only need to use the short Tuolumne Meadows shuttle at the beginning up to the Mono/Parker Pass TH. If you want an easy first day, just go 5 miles to upper Sardine Lake, which has a stunning view down Bloody Canyon to Mono Lake. Koip Peak Pass will be the hardest day.
