Now you'll be able to revisit and spend all the time needed, at all those locations that mother nature did not give you the ideal conditions the first or second time around, and capture those ideal shots.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Dave

what we have found is that unless we are on an extended trip, we stay home on weekends and do what has to be done and play on weekdays.

Who can't do everything he used to and what he can do takes a hell of a lot longer!

One of the sad things about retirement is that by the time you're old enough to do it it's a lot harder and more painful on the body to get to remote places. At some point it becomes impossible. My advice to young backpacking fanatics: Get in all the demanding packing you can while you're young and strong. Save cruises and golf for the golden years.

Or use a packer to make things easier.

The thing is unlike the vast majority of career working adults, I've somewhat been in this situation before of having months and months of free time to do whatever. The difference this time is I may never need to eventually go back to work this time. ... for six years after 2003 was free to do and go where I wanted and did so that was hugely productive for my body of work as a large format landscape photographer. So obviously, have never cared much about money beyond it being a resource to enjoy life at a peon level. ...

Bummer dude.

BTW, what does this word "retirement" mean?
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.
