On Friday morning I headed out to Lone Pine early and picked up a permit to go over Kearsarge to Rae Lakes on Saturday. I spent the rest of Friday day hiking up at Cottonwood Lakes. Absolutely gorgeous out there right now.

Didn't get up near New Army Pass but here's a shot of Old Army.

That night slept in my car in Alabama Hills then headed out early over Kearsarge Saturday morning. No snow on the pass.

From there headed out towards Glen Pass.

South side of Glen Pass has very little snow. North side has significantly more but I did not use my microspikes to go up or down either side.

Next day reversed the route and headed home.

Thanks for sharing! Nice to see that Glen and Kearsage has barely any snow! How were the mosquitos?

NIce pics!

Kevin, I found few mosquitoes through Rae Lakes, probably helped by a light breeze. The lower part of 60 Lake Basin was swarming, pretty awful.

I had a different experience with mosquitoes, found them to be pretty bad at Rae Lakes. Head net came in handy.
